Lightwave Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ: LWLG) has announced impressive results for its 200Gbps heterogeneous polymer/silicon photonic modulator at the 2024 Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) in San Diego, California. The company's Chairman and CEO, Dr. Michael Lebby, presented the latest world-class results, highlighting the performance of the modulator, which operates at a record low drive voltage.
During the presentation, it was revealed that each modulator was operated at 100Gbaud PAM4 and achieved all drive voltages below 2V, with some as low as 1V, demonstrating excellent low power operation. The test setup for the high-speed results was discussed, emphasizing the modulator's suitability for 4-channel 200Gbps per lane 800Gbps pluggable optical transceivers for data center applications.
The company's proprietary high-temperature, high-performance EO polymer material, when combined with silicon photonics devices from a 200mm production foundry process, has led to these promising results. Dr. Lebby also shared updated lifetime and reliability data for both the electro-optic polymer materials and devices.
