Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Promotes Doug Hisel to Senior VP in Leadership Restructure

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. has recently announced leadership and organizational structure changes in a strategic move to reinforce its focus on delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Julie Masino, President and CEO of Cracker Barrel, highlighted that these changes aim to ensure that every plate served and every guest interaction reflects the care and quality the company stands for.

One notable change includes the promotion of Doug Hisel to Senior Vice President, Store Operations, overseeing field operations and operations services. Hisel, an 18-year veteran of Cracker Barrel, brings a strong ability to balance operational excellence with a deep understanding of the company's processes and standards. This move also involved the restructuring of responsibilities and the elimination of the role of SVP and Chief Restaurant and Retail Operations Officer, previously held by Cammie Spillyards-Schaefer.

Thomas Yun is rejoining the company as Vice President, Menu Strategy & Innovation, replacing Matthew Banton. Yun previously served in this role at Cracker Barrel from 2022 to 2024 and was responsible for developing some of the company’s most successful menu introductions. He brings significant experience in the restaurant industry, driving menu innovation strategy rooted in classic country dishes.

Additionally, Heather Hager, VP, Retail & Design, and Heather Gammon, VP, Demand Planning, are each taking on expanded roles and absorbing responsibilities following the retirement of Laura Daily, SVP, Chief Merchant and Retail Supply Chain.

The company also confirmed the end of its engagement with Prophet, the global strategic and creative growth consultancy that advised Cracker Barrel on its previous brand refresh initiatives, including the logo and restaurant redesigns.

As Cracker Barrel reinforces its focus on food and guest experiences, these changes in leadership and organizational structure are expected to bring a more direct connection with field operations and ongoing improvements as the company prepares to deliver a memorable holiday season for its guests.

In addition to these changes, it is worth noting that Cracker Barrel currently operates approximately 660 company-owned locations in 43 states, with ownership of the fast-casual Maple Street Biscuit Company, and continues to honor its heritage while welcoming everyone with more than a meal. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 1.87% to a price of $44.19. For the full picture, make sure to review CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STORE, INC's 8-K report.
