With an average analyst rating of buy, Keurig Dr Pepper is clearly an analyst favorite. But the analysts could be wrong. Is KDP overvalued at today's price of $33.02? Let's take a closer look at the fundamentals to find out.

Considering its future earnings estimates of $1.92 per share, the stock's forward P/E ratio is 17.2. In comparison, the average P/E ratio of the Consumer Staples sector is 24.36 and the average P/E ratio of the S&P 500 is 15.97.
Keurig Dr Pepper's P/E ratio tells us how much investors are willing to pay for each dollar of the company's earnings. With most indicators pointing at a higher than average valuation with uncertain growth prospects, most analysts are either wrong about Keurig Dr Pepper, or their research has uncovered one or more qualitative reasons to invest in the stock.
