Viasat, Inc. has announced a comprehensive agreement with Ligado Networks, which is expected to result in Viasat receiving $568 million from Ligado in fiscal year 2026. The agreement involves Viasat's subsidiary, Inmarsat, and includes several key conditions.
Starting on September 30, 2025, Ligado will resume making quarterly payments of approximately $16 million to Inmarsat, with the payment amount increasing by 3% per year for the life of the contract through 2107. Additionally, Ligado will make a $420 million lump sum payment to Inmarsat on October 31, 2025, and a further lump sum payment of $100 million on March 31, 2026. Combined with the quarterly payments, Inmarsat expects to receive a total of $568 million by March 31, 2026.
Furthermore, as part of the agreement, Ligado's lawsuit against Inmarsat is stayed immediately and will be dismissed under the conditions set forth in the term sheet.
