Agco Corp Reports 18.8% Drop in Q2 Net Sales

Agco Corp reported a 18.8% year-over-year decrease in net sales, totaling $2.6 billion for the second quarter of 2025. The reported earnings per share was $4.22, a significant improvement from the net loss of $(4.92) per share in the same quarter of 2024. Adjusted earnings per share stood at $1.35, down from $2.53 in the second quarter of 2024.

For the first six months of 2025, net sales decreased by 24.1% to approximately $4.7 billion compared to the same period in 2024. Reported net income was $4.36 per share, up from a net loss of $(2.67) per share in the first six months of 2024, while adjusted net income was $1.76 per share, down from $4.85 per share in the same period of 2024.

The regional sales results for the second quarter of 2025 showed mixed performance. In Europe/Middle East ("EME"), sales decreased by 5.1%, in North America by 32.9%, in South America by 4.0%, and in Asia/Pacific/Africa ("APA") by 5.4%. Excluding currency translation, the sales decline was more pronounced in all regions.

Agco's outlook for full-year 2025 net sales is approximately $9.8 billion, with adjusted operating margins projected to be around 7.5%. Full-year earnings per share are targeted between $4.75 and $5.00.

The company's North American net sales witnessed a 32.2% decrease in the second quarter of 2025, driven by softer industry sales and under-production of end-market demand, particularly in high-horsepower tractors, sprayers, and hay equipment. South American net sales decreased by 4.7%, while Europe/Middle East and Asia/Pacific/Africa saw declines of 11.2% and 5.9%, respectively, excluding currency translation impacts.

Agco's performance in the face of a challenging global agricultural environment marked by weak farm economics and delayed purchasing decisions has led to the implementation of aggressive production cuts, disciplined cost control, and restructuring initiatives, resulting in strong earnings and cash flow generation.

The company is closely monitoring the increasingly complex global trade landscape, with a focus on operational agility, supply chain resilience, and executing its farmer-first strategy.

Today the company's shares have moved 12.54% to a price of $120.01. For the full picture, make sure to review 's 8-K report.
