Wesco International Appoints Daniel Castillo as EES GM

Wesco International (NYSE: WCC) has announced the appointment of Daniel Castillo as the new Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Electrical and Electronic Solutions (EES) strategic business unit. Castillo will be taking over from Nelson Squires, who will be retiring on September 30.

Wesco's EES sales increased by 6% year-over-year in the second quarter. This growth was primarily driven by strong performance in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Construction, as well as a return to growth in the Industrial sector.

The company attributes the improving business momentum in EES to increased sales related to data center and infrastructure projects across the U.S. and Canada. EES is also beginning to see benefits from the secular growth trends of electrification, AI-driven data centers, automation, IoT, and reshoring to North America.

Wesco International reported approximately $22 billion in annual sales in 2024, and it employs around 20,000 people. The company operates more than 700 sites across approximately 50 countries, providing a local presence for customers and a global network to serve multi-location businesses and global corporations.

John Engel, Chairman, President, and CEO of Wesco International, expressed confidence in Castillo's ability to drive profitable growth and build on the current positive momentum in the EES business.

Engel also expressed gratitude for Nelson Squires' contributions to Wesco over the past ten years and extended well wishes for his retirement. Today the company's shares have moved 1.03% to a price of $224.48. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
