AAR Corp. has announced its acquisition of Aircraft Reconfig Technologies, a leading aircraft interiors engineering company, from ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions for $35 million in an all-cash transaction. This move is part of AAR's accelerated growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions.
Aircraft Reconfig Technologies, founded in 1990, specializes in passenger aircraft reconfiguration for global airlines and has approximately 100 team members based in Greensboro, North Carolina. As an FAA Part 21 and 183 Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) holder, the company's robust intellectual property portfolio includes patents, parts manufacturer approval (PMA), and supplemental type certificates.
Upon closing, the acquisition will immediately expand AAR’s engineering and certification capabilities in its repair & engineering segment. This will allow AAR to enhance its offerings to customers and create opportunities to pursue additional work. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to both margins and earnings.
The transaction is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of AAR’s fiscal year 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
