Susan Hardwick, the recently retired chief executive officer of American Water, to its board of directors. This appointment is effective December 29, 2025, and Ms. Hardwick will serve on the audit committee and the nominating and corporate governance committee.
Ms. Hardwick brings with her more than 35 years of financial, operational, and strategic leadership experience across water supply, water treatment, and natural gas and power generation companies. She has an exceptional financial acumen and deep leadership experience from her tenure at American Water, where she led 6,500 employees serving 14 million people in 24 states. Prior to becoming CEO, she also served as American Water’s chief financial officer, overseeing various financial aspects of the company.
