General Motors (NYSE: GM) has released its financial results for the full year 2025, and the figures show a mix of performance across various metrics.
In 2025, the company reported a net income attributable to stockholders of $2.7 billion, which is a significant decrease from the full-year 2024 figure of $6.008 billion. Meanwhile, the EBIT-adjusted for 2025 was $12.7 billion, down from $14.934 billion in 2024.
The fourth quarter of 2025 saw a net loss of $3.3 billion, a stark contrast to the fourth quarter of 2024, which reported a net loss of $2.961 billion. Looking ahead to 2026, GM has issued guidance for a stronger financial performance. The company anticipates net income attributable to stockholders to be in the range of $10.3 billion to $11.7 billion, and EBIT-adjusted to be in the range of $13.0 billion to $15.0 billion. The company also expects automotive operating cash flow to be between $19.0 billion and $23.0 billion, with adjusted automotive free cash flow in the range of $9.0 billion to $11.0 billion.
In terms of capital allocation, GM's board of directors announced a 20% increase in the quarterly common stock dividend rate to $0.18 per share. Additionally, a new $6.0 billion share repurchase authorization has been approved.
As of December 31, 2025, GM had 904 million shares outstanding, down from 995 million at the end of 2024 and 1.2 billion at the end of 2023.
