United States Antimony Corporation (USAC) has just announced a significant new joint venture with Americas Gold and Silver Corporation to construct a state-of-the-art hydromet processing facility in Idaho. The joint venture will have ownership split with 51% for Americas and 49% for USAC, with USAC serving as the managing member. The primary goal of this new relationship is greater control over the processing necessary for copper, silver, and antimony, with the aim of generating greater overall recoveries at a significantly lower cost.
The property in Idaho where the new hydromet facility will be constructed has already obtained all necessary permits, except for the construction permits. This accomplishment significantly improves the timeline for immediate construction plans.
In 2025, USAC produced 561,000 pounds of antimony contained in concentrate from the Galena complex, and they are just getting started. The joint venture will provide Americas with the opportunity to leverage their position as the largest antimony producer in the United States to become a significant player in the downstream antimony market, capturing 51% of the profits from the processing side of the joint venture business.
This partnership aligns with the interest and objectives of various federal government agencies regarding its overall critical mineral objectives. The joint venture is expected to create value for both Americas and USAC shareholders, providing an entirely "made in the USA" solution from mine to finished product for antimony.
This announcement marks an important step for both companies as they work to strengthen the U.S.-based critical mineral space. The new innovative processing center is expected to "fast track" advancements in the U.S.-based critical mineral space, aligning with the aggressive growth initiatives of both companies.
The construction of the new hydromet facility in Idaho, and the subsequent increase in production and processing capabilities, signals a significant milestone for both USAC and Americas Gold and Silver Corporation. Today the company's shares have moved 0.0% to a price of $8.29. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
