Anterix said April 1 it signed a 900 MHz spectrum sale agreement with Texas-New Mexico Power, adding another utility customer to its private wireless platform.
TNMP, a subsidiary of TXNM Energy, serves more than 280,000 homes and businesses. The company said the agreement will support its 2025-2027 system resiliency plan and is aimed at faster outage response, real-time monitoring of critical infrastructure, and integration of advanced energy technologies.
The deal expands Anterix’s utility roster. The company said nine utilities now use its 900 MHz platform across 15 states, up from eight utilities before TNMP was added. In Texas, TNMP joins LCRA, Oncor, Xcel Energy and CPS Energy as utilities that have moved toward secure, utility-controlled communications.
Anterix said the platform is already in market and positioned as a lower-risk option for utilities seeking private wireless networks. TNMP said the system will give it secure communications for critical infrastructure and a scalable base for future needs.
The company did not disclose financial terms of the spectrum sale agreement. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -4.41% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $38.78. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
