First Commonwealth Financial Corp Names New CIO

First Commonwealth Financial Corporation named Ryan L. Gorney executive vice president and chief information officer, effective April 27, 2026.

Gorney is stepping into the role as Norm Montgomery, the company’s long-time business integration group leader, retires May 1. He will report to President and CEO T. Michael Price and join the executive leadership team.

The company said Gorney will oversee information technology, digital strategy, operations and enterprise transformation initiatives. His background includes more than 20 years in banking, fintech and professional services.

Most recently, Gorney was chief information officer at Primis Bank and chief technology officer at Panacea Financial, where he led enterprise technology, operations modernization, core banking strategy and digital delivery. Before that, he served as executive vice president and chief information officer at Professional Bank, where he oversaw technology, digital, operations and innovation and was involved in the bank’s initial public offering.

Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at KeyBank, Ernst & Young and Accenture, advising financial institutions on digital transformation, payments, mergers and integrations, and core systems modernization.

First Commonwealth said it operates 126 branches across Pennsylvania and Ohio, along with business banking centers in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Cleveland, Canton, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
