Oscar Health named independent director Siddhartha Sankaran as chair of the board, effective June 4, 2026, replacing Jeffery Boyd, who has held the role since February 2021 and will not stand for reelection at the annual meeting.
Sankaran has served on Oscar Health’s board for five years and brings more than 20 years of insurance-industry leadership, including executive roles at American International Group, SiriusPoint and FWD Group Holdings. Boyd said he has been involved with Oscar for 12 years and described the company as being positioned for strong 2026 performance and long-term growth.
The change keeps the chair role within the existing board ranks rather than bringing in an outside appointee. Oscar’s leadership framed the move as part of its next phase, with CEO Mark Bertolini saying Sankaran will help guide the company through its next stage. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved -3.03%, and are now trading at a price of $11.84. For the full picture, make sure to review Oscar Health's 8-K report.
