Clean Energy Fuels Corp. named Clay Corbus president and chief executive officer, effective immediately, and added him to the board of directors, replacing co-founder Andrew Littlefair as the company’s top executive after 30 years in the role.
Corbus has spent 19 years at Clean Energy and most recently ran the company’s renewable natural gas production and distribution businesses. His earlier responsibilities included corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising. Before joining Clean Energy, he was co-CEO of investment bank WR Hambrecht + Co.
Littlefair is moving to a non-employee government relations consultant role while remaining on the board.
The leadership change comes as Clean Energy continues to build out its RNG platform and fleet-fueling business. Corbus said he plans to work with the company’s leadership team to grow the renewable natural gas platform and serve fleet customers. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 1.73% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $2.35. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
