Sensient Technologies began 2026 with higher sales, stronger operating profit, and a sharper earnings line in the first quarter.
Revenue rose 11.1% to $435.8 million from $392.3 million a year earlier. On a local-currency basis, revenue increased 7.2%.
Operating income climbed 24.7% to $66.7 million from $53.5 million. Earnings per share increased 28.4% to $1.04 from 81 cents.
By segment, the color business led the quarter. Revenue in color jumped 18.1% to $198.2 million from $167.8 million, while operating income increased 20.7% to $42.1 million from $34.9 million.
Flavors & extracts revenue increased 4.2% to $201.8 million from $193.7 million, and operating income rose 7.0% to $26.8 million from $25.0 million.
Asia Pacific revenue increased 8.0% to $45.3 million from $41.9 million, and operating income rose 18.4% to $11.2 million from $9.5 million.
Corporate and other operating expenses fell to $13.3 million from $15.8 million.
The company also raised its 2026 outlook. It now expects local-currency revenue growth and local-currency adjusted EBITDA growth in the high single-digit to double-digit range, up from prior guidance of mid-single-digit to double-digit growth. It lifted its diluted EPS forecast to $3.70 to $3.90 from $3.60 to $3.80, and increased its local-currency adjusted diluted EPS outlook to high single-digit to double-digit growth from mid-single-digit to high single-digit growth.
