NEC has completed its acquisition of CSG Systems International, bringing CSG into Netcracker and putting Netcracker in charge of the combined business.
The deal combines two software businesses with overlapping but distinct strengths. CSG brings a customer base built around business support systems, customer experience and payments, with exposure to telecommunications as well as financial services and healthcare. Netcracker contributes digital BSS and OSS software, AI-driven automation and cloud-native platforms.
The combined company is being led by Andrew Feinberg, who has been named chairman and chief executive officer. Netcracker will handle operations and integration, while NEC will provide governance, strategic direction and global resources.
The new structure is aimed at creating a broader digital platform that spans customer engagement, monetization and operations in one environment. The companies said the merged portfolio is intended to help service providers manage the full lifecycle of digital services and use AI more heavily to automate and optimize business decisions.
NEC said the transaction strengthens its global digital services business. The company also said the combination expands its ability to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions and support customers’ growth and transformation.
Netcracker said the combined business will have a more complete platform for customers looking to move toward more agile, AI-driven and cloud-native operating models. It also said customers will continue to receive service and support while capabilities are integrated over time.
The release did not disclose purchase price or financial terms. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 0.01%, and are now trading at a price of $80.70. For the full picture, make sure to review CSG SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL INC's 8-K report.
