New CFO Appointed at Six Flags Entertainment

Six Flags Entertainment Corp. has appointed Ash Walia as chief financial officer, effective June 17, replacing the interim finance leadership arrangement that began May 8.

Walia arrives from Hot Topic, where he has served as CFO since 2021, and previously held the top finance role at 99 Cents Only Stores. Before that, he spent seven years at Starbucks in senior finance and supply chain roles, including senior vice president of corporate finance, and earlier held finance positions at Kellogg’s.

The company said Dave Hoffman, who has been interim CFO since May 8, will remain chief accounting officer.

The appointment comes as Six Flags seeks to strengthen its financial position. In comments accompanying the announcement, CEO John Reilly said the company is focused on improving performance, strengthening the balance sheet, and expanding margins. Walia said he sees the business as being positioned to capture opportunities under a new operating philosophy and strategic priorities.

Six Flags operates 20 amusement parks, 14 water parks and nine resort properties across 13 states in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and also manages one amusement park in Saudi Arabia. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 2.86% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $20.675.
