In April 2026, LTL shipments per workday rose 5.6% from April 2025, while LTL tonnage per workday increased 6.9%. Weight per shipment edged up 1.3%.
May showed a stronger tonnage gain. Shipments per workday increased 3.7% year over year, tonnage per workday climbed 8.4%, and weight per shipment rose 4.5%.
For the first two months of the second quarter combined, Saia reported LTL shipments per workday up 4.6% versus the same period a year earlier. LTL tonnage per workday increased 7.6%, and weight per shipment was up 2.9%.
