Old Dominion Freight Line said May 2026 revenue per day rose 12.3% from May 2025, driven by higher less-than-truckload revenue per hundredweight, even as volume softened.
LTL tons per day fell 3.8% year over year in May. That decline came from a 5.3% drop in LTL shipments per day, partly offset by a 1.6% increase in weight per shipment.
For the quarter to date, LTL revenue per hundredweight increased 15.6% from the same period last year, while LTL revenue per hundredweight excluding fuel surcharges rose 5.4%.
The company said LTL tons per day declined year over year in both April and May, but demand improved as the quarter progressed. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 1.85%, and are now trading at a price of $233.035. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
