Trane Technologies has named Donny Simmons chief operating officer, effective July 1, 2026, and gave him oversight of the company’s regional business units and operations.
The appointment comes as the company said its annual revenue has nearly doubled since it launched as a pure-play climate innovation company in 2020. The company did not provide a revenue figure in the release, but it tied the leadership change to a larger operating footprint and faster growth ambitions.
Simmons is a 25-year company veteran who most recently led the Americas region, where he oversaw commercial and residential HVAC, transport refrigeration and life science solutions. He joined Trane Technologies in 2001 and has previously run Commercial HVAC North America and EMEA, along with several global industrial businesses.
The company said the move is intended to tighten alignment between its regional businesses and operations as it seeks to speed execution of its growth strategy. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved 1.92% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $467.72.
