Cencora said Chief Human Resources Officer Silvana Battaglia will retire after a seven-year run and be replaced by Samantha Hammock on July 13, 2026.
Battaglia will move into a special advisor role on the same date and work with Hammock through the end of the calendar year. Cencora said Battaglia helped build a “world-class employee experience” for more than 51,000 team members during her tenure.
Hammock is joining from Verizon Communications, where she most recently served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Before that, she held executive HR roles at American Express, including head of global talent and learning.
Cencora said Hammock will report to CEO Bob Mauch and will oversee the company’s global human resources strategy. The company also said its worldwide team contributes to operations supporting more than $300 billion in annual revenue, and that it ranks No. 10 on the Fortune 500 and No. 17 on the Global Fortune 500.
