Alaska Airlines has promoted Chief Financial Officer Shane Tackett to president, expanding his role to include the commercial organization in addition to finance, fleet management, investor relations, supply chain, internal audit and information technology.
The move takes effect June 29, 2026. Tackett will continue to report to CEO Ben Minicucci and remain on the company’s executive committee.
Tackett has spent more than 25 years at Alaska and has been CFO since 2020. During that period, the company said he helped steer the airline through a major industry reset, strengthened the balance sheet and played a central role in strategic decisions, including the acquisition and integration of Hawaiian Airlines.
The promotion also folds commercial leadership under Tackett, combining finance and revenue-side responsibilities in one role. Alaska said that alignment is intended to accelerate execution of its Alaska Accelerate plan, which is designed to drive value across cycles and support sustained earnings growth.
The leadership change comes as Alaska continues to reshape its top team. In recent months, the company named Diana Birkett Rakow CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, Andy Schneider CEO and president of Horizon Air, Jason Berry chief operating officer, Kyle Levine EVP of corporate and public affairs, chief legal officer and corporate secretary, and Lindsay-Rae McIntyre chief people officer. Today the company's shares have moved -0.83% to a price of $48.70. For the full picture, make sure to review ALASKA AIR GROUP, INC.'s 8-K report.
