Roku has changed the way it reports its business, splitting what had been a combined platform segment into three reportable segments: advertising, subscriptions and devices.
The shift took effect in the first quarter of 2026, and Roku has recast prior-period results to match the new structure. Under the prior presentation, advertising and subscriptions were grouped together as a single platform segment.
The filing updates only three parts of Roku’s 2025 annual report: the business description, management’s discussion and analysis, and the financial statements and supplementary data. No other sections of the 2025 report were changed.
Roku said the new segment structure reflects how it now manages the business and how results are reported to its chief executive officer, who serves as the company’s chief operating decision maker. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 0.57%, and are now trading at a price of $138.07. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
