PPL Corp. said Kenneth M. Hartwick will join its board of directors effective July 1, expanding the board to 10 directors.
Hartwick most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Ontario Power Generation from 2019 to 2025. Before that, he was the company’s chief financial officer. His background also includes executive roles at Wellspring Financial Corp., Just Energy Group and Hydro One, and he began his career at Ernst & Young, where he became a partner advising energy and utilities clients.
At PPL, Hartwick will serve on the people and compensation committee and the finance committee. The company said his appointment adds experience in utility leadership, financial management, risk oversight and large-scale generation and infrastructure investment.
PPL said its board now includes one independent chair, eight other independent directors and the company’s president and chief executive officer. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -0.68% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $36.49.
