Adeia said Tuesday it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against FuboTV and certain subsidiaries in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, escalating a dispute over media-streaming technology.
The company said the complaint covers four U.S. patents in its media intellectual property portfolio. Adeia said the patents relate to technologies used in advanced media delivery and streaming experiences across video platforms.
Adeia said its portfolio now includes more than 13,750 worldwide patent assets, built over four decades of research and development. The company said its intellectual property is licensed by many major media, consumer electronics, streaming and semiconductor companies.
The filing comes after Adeia said it had previously reached a separate settlement and license with Disney, which it described as distinct from the claims against Fubo. Adeia said it remains open to a resolution with Fubo, but said it filed suit to protect its intellectual property. Today the company's shares have moved -0.73% to a price of $32.69.
