Six Flags Appoints Mark Pauls as COO

Six Flags named Mark Pauls as chief operating officer, effective July 15, replacing Tim Fisher, who will stay on as a special adviser through Dec. 15 to help with the transition.

Pauls arrives from Herschend Family Entertainment, where he had been senior vice president of operations and helped integrate Palace Entertainment after Herschend acquired it in December 2025. Before that, he was vice president of operations at Palace Entertainment, overseeing its nationwide portfolio and leading efficiency and cost-cutting efforts that the company said improved profitability and EBITDA performance.

His background also includes senior leadership roles at SeaWorld Parks and Busch Gardens, where he oversaw park and facility operations focused on guest service and satisfaction. At SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, he previously served as president and was responsible for park operations across about 4 million annual guests and a workforce of 6,000 employees.

Six Flags said the appointment is part of its effort to strengthen operational execution. The company said it operates 21 amusement parks, 14 water parks and nine resort properties across 13 states in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, plus one amusement park in Saudi Arabia. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 2.59%, and are now trading at a price of $20.99. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
