AbCellera Biologics (ABCL) appoints Dr. Lynn Seely to Board

AbCellera has added Dr. Lynn Seely to its board of directors as an independent director, bringing in an executive with a record that includes leading two major commercial launches and shepherding an oncology drug from first-in-human testing to global approvals.

Seely is currently president and chief executive of Lyell Immunopharma, a late-stage clinical company developing CAR T-cell therapies for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Before that, she was president, CEO, board member and first employee of Myovant Sciences, where she helped commercialize Myfembree and Orgovyx. Earlier, as chief medical officer at Medivation, she led the development of Xtandi from early clinical trials through worldwide approvals before Pfizer bought the company for $14 billion.

Her board experience also includes serving as lead independent director at Blueprint Medicines before Sanofi acquired it for $9.1 billion, and as a board member at Torl Biotherapeutics. She also serves on the board of managers of Life Science Cares Bay Area.

For AbCellera, the appointment adds another director with direct experience in clinical, regulatory and commercial execution as the company advances antibody-based medicines in endocrinology, women’s health, immunology and oncology. Today the company's shares have moved -3.51% to a price of $7.825. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
