BellRing Brands Names Michael Axelrod as New CEO

BellRing Brands has named Michael Axelrod as its next president and chief executive officer, effective July 29, 2026, replacing Darcy Davenport, who will move into a senior advisory role during the transition.

The leadership change comes after a period of expansion at the company. BellRing said the business has grown to more than $2.3 billion in sales under Davenport’s leadership.

Axelrod arrives from Snak King, where he served as chief executive officer. Before that, he was CEO of Del Real Foods, where he oversaw revenue growth, national expansion and operational improvements. His background also includes two years as CEO of Passport Food Group and five years at TreeHouse Foods, where he served as president of the condiments division and chief operating officer of Bay Valley Foods.

BellRing’s board said it chose Axelrod after an extensive search, citing his customer relationships and operational experience. The company’s top-selling position in ready-to-drink protein was also highlighted as a key strength as it looks to extend growth.

The announcement did not include financial results for the latest period, but it did mark a notable shift in leadership at a company that has already scaled to a multibillion-dollar sales base. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -8.19% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $12.10.
