Biohaven is reshuffling its scientific leadership, promoting David Pirman to executive vice president and head of discovery while moving Bruce Car from chief scientific officer to a new part-time role as chief innovation officer.
The changes take effect July 13, 2026 for Car. In the new role, he will focus on scientific initiatives and external collaborations, including multiple assets under Biohaven’s collaboration with Bexorg. Car will continue as an executive officer.
Pirman will now lead Biohaven’s internal drug-discovery organization and oversee research programs. The company said the move reflects his contributions to discovery efforts.
Warren Volles, Biohaven’s general counsel and chief legal officer, has also been designated an executive officer.
The transition comes as Biohaven continues work on its June 2025 multi-program collaboration with Bexorg to identify and advance therapies for CNS disorders. Under that partnership, Bexorg’s whole-brain discovery platform is being used to generate target-engagement, biomarker, and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data for Biohaven’s preclinical programs.
Biohaven said the leadership changes are intended to support its discovery momentum and external collaboration strategy. Today the company's shares have moved -7.09% to a price of $15.60. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
