Alpha and Omega Semiconductor appointed Joshua Chien as an independent director, effective July 8, 2026.
Chien is currently executive vice president, product and strategy officer at Sonatus, where he oversees product strategy and expansion into new verticals in a fractional executive role through his advisory firm, Deonow. From 2021 to April 2026, he was chief commercial officer at SMTC Corporation, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, account management and Asia operations and helped drive more than fourfold revenue growth. He also spent 2014 to 2020 as senior vice president of global sales and marketing at SMTC, and from 2000 to 2014 held several roles at Sanmina, including vice president of global strategic business development and customer service.
The company said Chien’s background spans business development, supply chain strategy and operational leadership across technology and electronics manufacturing. Alpha and Omega Semiconductor’s board said his appointment is intended to support the company as it expands its business and executes its strategic priorities.
