News Corp Spends $240.2M on Buybacks

News Corporation said it had spent US$240.2 million buying back 9.51 million shares in the latest reporting period, lifting total repurchases under its 2025 program to about US$372.3 million.

The company disclosed that 62,323 shares were repurchased on 17 July 2026 for US$1.78 million. The average price in that latest batch works out to about US$28.47 a share, versus roughly US$25.27 a share across the larger prior cumulative purchases.

During the earlier period, News bought back 9.51 million shares for US$240.24 million. The highest price paid in the program was US$28.68 a share on 16 July 2026, while the lowest price paid was US$22.20 a share on 9 February 2026.

News said the repurchase program authorizes up to US$1 billion of Class A and Class B stock. Based on the company’s own tally, it has now used about 37.2% of that authorization, leaving roughly US$627.7 million available. The program covers Nasdaq-listed Class A and Class B common stock, with no ASX-listed CDIs included.
