General Motors reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $48.0 billion, up 1.9% from $47.1 billion a year earlier. Net income attributable to stockholders fell 31.1% to $1.3 billion from $1.9 billion, while EBIT-adjusted rose 29.8% to $3.9 billion from $3.0 billion.
Margins moved in opposite directions: net income margin narrowed to 2.7% from 4.0%, while EBIT-adjusted margin expanded to 8.2% from 6.4%.
Cash generation improved sharply in the quarter. Automotive operating cash flow increased 9.0% to $5.1 billion from $4.7 billion, and adjusted automotive free cash flow jumped 78.0% to $5.0 billion from $2.8 billion. Diluted EPS declined to $1.41 from $1.91, but adjusted diluted EPS climbed 41.3% to $3.57 from $2.53.
By segment, GM North America EBIT-adjusted increased 42.7% to $3.4 billion from $2.4 billion, with margin rising to 8.6% from 6.1%. GM International EBIT-adjusted slipped 6.6% to $190 million from $204 million. China equity income improved to $83 million from $71 million. GM Financial adjusted EBT declined 14.0% to $605 million from $704 million.
For the first half, revenue rose 0.6% to $91.7 billion from $91.1 billion. Net income attributable to stockholders dropped 16.0% to $3.9 billion from $4.7 billion, while EBIT-adjusted climbed 25.6% to $8.2 billion from $6.5 billion. EBIT-adjusted margin increased to 8.9% from 7.2%, while net income margin fell to 4.3% from 5.1%.
Half-year automotive operating cash flow fell 20.6% to $5.6 billion from $7.1 billion. Adjusted automotive free cash flow rose 73.2% to $6.3 billion from $3.6 billion. Diluted EPS declined to $4.25 from $5.28, while adjusted diluted EPS increased 36.9% to $7.27 from $5.31.
GM raised its full-year 2026 EBIT-adjusted guidance to $14.0 billion to $16.0 billion from $13.5 billion to $15.5 billion. It also lifted adjusted automotive free cash flow guidance to $9.5 billion to $11.5 billion from $9.0 billion to $11.0 billion, and adjusted diluted EPS guidance to $12.00 to $14.00 from $11.50 to $13.50.
The company said full-year net income attributable to stockholders is now expected to be $8.4 billion to $9.8 billion, automotive operating cash flow $15.4 billion to $19.4 billion, and diluted EPS $8.98 to $10.98.
