National Health Investors named Chris Maingot chief operating officer, effective July 27, 2026, creating the company’s first COO role as it looks to expand its senior housing portfolio.
Maingot joins NHI after serving as chief executive officer of Longview Senior Housing, a Blackstone portfolio company, where he oversaw a senior housing portfolio with operations in the U.S. and Canada. Before that, he spent more than 10 years at Brookdale Senior Living, most recently as senior vice president of corporate development and strategic initiatives.
NHI said the new role is intended to strengthen its operating platform as it pursues growth in senior housing and deepens relationships with operators. The company, founded in 1991, said it owns, leases, operates and finances real estate focused on senior housing communities and medical facilities, with investments spanning independent living, assisted living, entrance-fee communities, senior living campuses, skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 0.74%, and are now trading at a price of $80.54. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
