ASSURED GUARANTY has recently released its latest 10-Q report. Assured Guaranty Ltd. and its subsidiaries provide credit protection products to public finance and structured finance markets in the U.S. and abroad, operating through Financial Guaranty, Annuity Reinsurance and Asset Management segments. Its insurance businesses cover debt instruments and other monetary obligations, while its asset management arm operates through ownership interests in Sound Point Capital Management and related affiliates.
In Item 2, Management’s Discussion and Analysis, the company said its results are reported in three segments: Financial Guaranty, Annuity Reinsurance and Asset Management, with Corporate and other activities shown separately. The Financial Guaranty segment, previously called Insurance before March 31, 2026, provides credit protection for U.S. and non-U.S. public finance and structured finance exposures. The Annuity Reinsurance segment includes Assured Life Reinsurance Ltd. and acquired subsidiaries, while the asset management business is tied to Sound Point.
Assured Guaranty said its financial strength ratings remained at AA from S&P for Assured Guaranty Inc., Assured Guaranty Re Ltd., Assured Guaranty Re Overseas Ltd., Assured Guaranty UK Limited and Assured Guaranty (Europe) SA, all with stable outlooks and rating actions dated July 17, 2026. KBRA rated Assured Guaranty Inc. and Assured Guaranty UK Limited AA+ with stable outlooks, both dated August 3, 2026, while Moody’s rated Assured Guaranty Inc. and Assured Guaranty UK Limited A1, stable, dated July 27, 2026. A.M. Best rated Assured Guaranty Re Overseas Ltd. A+ with a stable outlook dated July 19, 2025, and Fitch rated Assured Life Re BBB with a positive outlook dated January 28, 2026.
The company pointed to a U.S. GDP increase of 1.5% annualized in the second quarter of 2026, down from 2.1% in the first quarter, and a U.S. unemployment rate of 4.2% at the end of June 2026, compared with 4.4% at the start of the year. It also said U.S. CPI inflation for the 12 months ended June 2026 was 3.5%, up from 2.7% a year earlier. Assured Guaranty said global tariffs have continued to shift since April 2, 2025, adding uncertainty to trade policy and economic conditions.
