ManpowerGroup Adds Paychex CEO to Board

ManpowerGroup has named Paychex president and chief executive officer John B. Gibson Jr. to its board of directors, effective Sept. 1, 2026.

Gibson has led Paychex since October 2022. In April 2025, he oversaw Paychex’s acquisition of Paycor, the largest deal in Paychex’s history, expanding the company’s human capital management platforms. Before becoming CEO, Gibson was Paychex’s president and chief operating officer from 2020 to 2022, with responsibility for operations, sales, service, marketing and product management.

He joined Paychex in 2013 as senior vice president of service. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Ameritech, now AT&T, and Convergys, now Concentrix, where he led the HR management division serving clients in 68 countries.

Gibson also serves on the New York Fed’s Second District advisory council. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Indiana University and completed executive education at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and INSEAD.
