Core Scientific completed its acquisition of Polaris DS LLC for about $444 million in cash, adding roughly 440 megawatts of currently operating, grid-connected power capacity under existing Oklahoma Gas & Electric agreements.
The deal lifts Core Scientific’s total power portfolio by more than 600 megawatts of leasable power this year, according to the company. It also pushes forward the company’s Muskogee expansion plan, which it says is now targeted to reach about 1.5 gigawatts of gross power, or about 1.0 gigawatt of leasable power, through a mix of grid-connected and behind-the-meter solutions.
Core Scientific said it remains on track to deliver the next approximately 82 megawatts at Muskogee to a customer in the second half of 2027.
The company said the Polaris acquisition is part of a broader push to scale its campuses and expand its high-density colocation footprint for AI-related workloads. As a result of these announcements, the company's shares have moved -0.2% on the market, and are now trading at a price of $19.74. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
