ASP Isotopes Ventures into Isotope Production from Multiple Locations

ASP Isotopes recently released its 10-Q report. The company is a development-stage advanced materials business that produces and commercializes isotopes through operations in South Africa, Hong Kong, the United States, and other jurisdictions. It is organized into two segments: Nuclear Fuels, which is focused on technologies for HALEU and Lithium-6, and Specialist Isotopes and Related Services, which is focused on higher-value isotopes used in medical, semiconductor, and industrial applications.

Item 2. Management’s Discussion and Analysis of Financial Condition and Results of Operations

ASP Isotopes said it is building an isotope-enrichment platform around two proprietary technologies, the Aerodynamic Separation Process and Quantum Enrichment, with initial commercial emphasis on Carbon-14, Silicon-28 and Ytterbium-176. The company said it began commercial production of enriched isotopes at both ASP enrichment facilities in Pretoria during the first half of 2025, but as of June 30, 2026 it had not generated revenue from sales of enriched isotopes. It is targeting initial commercial shipments of enriched C-14, Si-28 and Yb-176 in the second half of 2026, depending in part on customer feedstock timing and quality.

On the nuclear fuel side, ASP said its subsidiary QLE is pursuing uranium enrichment work in South Africa for potential HALEU production. The company said it has entered into definitive agreements with TerraPower, including a term loan subject to conditions to help fund a new uranium enrichment facility at Pelindaba, and supply agreements for future HALEU deliveries. It also said QLE’s South African subsidiary has a pre-implementation services contract with Necsa covering facilities, infrastructure, utilities and services for a planned enrichment site at Pelindaba.

The company also said it has started planning additional isotope enrichment plants in South Africa and in other jurisdictions, including Iceland and the United States. It said future development could include Zinc-68, Xenon-129/136, Germanium-70/72/74, Chlorine-37, Nickel-64, Gadolinium-160, Ytterbium-171, Lithium-6 and Lithium-7. ASP said its QLE business may also be used to produce U-235 for advanced nuclear fuel applications, although it has not yet applied its enrichment technologies to U-235 and has not received permission or regulatory approval to do so outside the activities covered by the Necsa contract.

The quarter also reflected a broader expansion of the company’s operating base through acquisitions. In January 2026, ASP acquired Renergen and issued 14,270,000 consideration shares; Renergen became a wholly owned subsidiary and brought with it the Virginia Gas Project, including LNG, helium separation and liquid helium liquefaction operations. ASP also acquired 60% of Numed Diagnostics in January 2026 for $0.8 million, with an option to buy the remaining 40% for $0.5 million, and it had previously acquired East Coast Nuclear Pharmacy in October 2025 for total consideration of $2.5 million, including $0.5 million deferred through notes payable. The company said it owns 51% of PET Labs and has an option to buy the remaining 49% for $2.2 million through January 31, 2027.

ASP said its board intends to separate the Nuclear Fuels business and the Specialist Isotopes and Related Services business into two independent companies. The company said the planned separation would likely take the form of a listing of QLE as a separate public company, with a portion of QLE equity distributed to ASP stockholders at a future record date. It also said it has a license agreement under which QLE pays a perpetual royalty equal to 10% of future QLE revenues, and an EPC services framework agreement under which ASP would provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and test services for future QLE facilities, subject to required approvals. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved -0.23%, and are now trading at a price of $4.27. Check out the company's full 10-Q submission here.
