Enovix said Chief Executive Raj Talluri resigned effective Aug. 13, 2026, and the board moved immediately to replace him with a two-person leadership transition: Chief Financial Officer Ryan Benton was named interim CEO and Chairman T.J. Rodgers was elevated to executive chairman.
The company said the change does not alter its operating plan. Rodgers said Enovix is reaffirming its Q3 2026 financial guidance and standing behind the technical progress it highlighted in its Aug. 12 Q2 2026 investor call.
The leadership reshuffle comes as Enovix is pushing three main programs: smartphone batteries, AI-1 smart eyewear batteries, and the MX-1 platform for defense and drone customers. Benton said defense and drone revenue accounted for 65% of Q2 2026 revenue, underscoring how quickly that business has become a major part of the company’s sales mix.
Rodgers also said the company has now demonstrated 1,000-cycle life on its AI-class smartphone batteries. He contrasted that with the company’s earlier performance, saying that when he joined the board 14 years ago, Enovix batteries struggled to reach 10 charging cycles. He added that no other manufacturer of silicon-anode lithium-ion smartphone batteries has exceeded 32% silicon anode content, while Enovix is now shipping 100% silicon anodes that work for 1,000 cycles.
On the operating side, Rodgers said COO Michael Vyvoda will take end-to-end ownership of manufacturing, supply chain and equipment engineering across Enovix’s Malaysia and Korea facilities. He also said the company’s 80-person R&D group will move under Vyvoda’s oversight to speed transfers from development to manufacturing.
Benton said the company will stay focused on three priorities: final qualification of smartphone programs, scaling AI-1 smart eyewear battery production, and expanding the MX-1 platform for defense and drone revenue.
Enovix said its eyewear and defense products are its first production products and are ramping now, while it is building additional capacity in Korea to keep up with demand. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved -17.57%, and are now trading at a price of $3.6186. For the full picture, make sure to review Enovix Corp's 8-K report.
