Hanmi Financial reported second-quarter 2026 results with loans at $7.0 billion and deposits at $8.0 billion, while total assets reached $6.5 billion. The company said average loans have grown at a 9% CAGR since 2013, and average deposits have also grown at a 9% CAGR over the same period.
The loan mix continued to shift away from concentration in commercial real estate. CRE represented 62% of the portfolio at June 30, 2026, down from 85% at December 31, 2013. C&I rose to 18% from 10%, equipment finance accounted for 5%, and residential real estate was 15%, compared with 5% in 2013.
Average loans climbed to $6.438 billion in 2Q26 from $6.303 billion in 2025 and $6.191 billion in 2024. Average deposits increased to $6.673 billion in 2Q26 from $6.568 billion in 2025 and $6.308 billion in 2024. Noninterest-bearing deposits were 29% of average deposits in 2Q26, versus 30% in 2025 and 31% in 2024.
Net income was $46 million on a year-to-date basis in 2Q26, down from $76 million in 2025 and $62 million in 2024. Earnings per share were $1.54, compared with $2.51 in 2025 and $2.05 in 2024.
Net interest income was $127 million in 2Q26, up from $236 million in 2025 and $203 million in 2024. The net interest margin was 3.37%, compared with 3.15% in 2025 and 2.78% in 2024.
Noninterest income was $17 million in 2Q26, down from $34 million in 2025 and $32 million in 2024. Noninterest expense was $77 million, compared with $148 million in 2025 and $141 million in 2024.
The allowance for credit losses was $70 million in 2Q26, flat with 2025 and 2024, while the allowance as a percentage of total loans was 1.08%, up from 1.07% in 2025 and 1.12% in 2024.
Nonperforming assets were $9.9 million in 2Q26, down from $25.9 million in 2025 and $19.1 million in 2024. Nonperforming assets as a percentage of total assets fell to 0.12% from 0.26% in 2025 and 0.19% in 2024.
