Entera Bio Appoints Dr. Riccardo Paolo Camisasca as CMO

Entera Bio appointed Riccardo Paolo Camisasca, M.D., as chief medical officer as the company moves toward Phase 3 development of EB613.

Camisasca brings more than 30 years of experience in clinical development, medical affairs, regulatory strategy and R&D leadership. He most recently served as global head of research & development at Sumitomo Pharma Switzerland, where he oversaw the integration of the R&D organizations across Urovant, Enzyvant, Altavant and Myovant. Before that, he led clinical development and medical affairs at Bial, managing a team of about 90 people. His background also includes senior roles at Syneos Health, Takeda and Novartis.

The hire comes as Entera prepares to advance EB613, its oral PTH(1-34) teriparatide candidate for osteoporosis, into Phase 3. The company said EB613 completed a Phase 2 study in 161 patients over six months and met all biomarker and bone mineral density endpoints without significant safety concerns. In that study, EB613 produced rapid dose-proportional increases in bone formation markers, reductions in bone resorption markers, and gains in lumbar spine, total hip and femoral neck bone mineral density.

Entera said the appointment is meant to strengthen its clinical execution team and late-stage development capabilities as it expands work on its oral peptide pipeline. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 0.0%, and are now trading at a price of $2.90. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
