NEWS CORP Spends $279.6M in Share Buyback Program

News Corporation said it bought back 10,842,150 shares on the prior day and another 62,323 shares on the day before that, spending a total of US$279.6 million across the two sessions.

The company paid US$277.8 million for the 10.84 million shares repurchased on 17 August 2026, followed by US$1.79 million for the 62,323 shares bought on 16 August 2026.

The highest price paid in the latest reported buyback activity was US$30.79 a share, while the lowest price paid was US$22.20. On the most recent trading day, the company paid US$29.14 a share at the high end and US$28.58 at the low end.

News Corporation said it is pursuing a repurchase program of up to US$1 billion of its Nasdaq-listed Class A and Class B common stock. To date, it has bought back about US$428.6 million under the program, leaving roughly US$571.4 million available. The company’s Class A share class listed in the filing had 359,278,622 securities on issue. The market has reacted to these announcements by moving the company's shares 1.32% to a price of $29.08.
