ANI Pharmaceuticals added Henry Gosebruch to its board of directors on Aug. 19, 2026, while Muthusamy “Samy” Shanmugam stepped down from the board effective immediately.
Gosebruch arrives with more than 30 years of experience in biopharmaceutical strategy, business development and finance. Since May 2025, he has been chief executive officer of Lakefront Biotherapeutics, and from July 2023 to February 2025 he was president and chief executive officer of Neumora Therapeutics.
His longest recent stint was at AbbVie, where he served from 2015 to 2023 as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. In that role, he oversaw corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, business development and M&A, search and evaluation, alliance management and AbbVie Ventures. The company said that under his leadership the group completed more than 100 transactions and investments, including AbbVie’s acquisition of Allergan.
Before AbbVie, Gosebruch spent more than 20 years at J.P. Morgan, most recently as co-head of North American M&A.
ANI chairman Thomas Haughey said the appointment comes as the company accelerates its transformation into a rare disease company. Gosebruch said ANI has the management team, commercial infrastructure and balance sheet to take a “meaningful next step” through additional business development.
Shanmugam’s board exit reduces the board count by one, but he remains in place as ANI’s head of research and development and chief operating officer of New Jersey operations. Haughey said Shanmugam had served on the board for five years. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved -0.96%, and are now trading at a price of $74.63.
