News Corp authorizes $1 billion buyback program

News Corporation has expanded its 2025 share repurchase program, authorizing buybacks of up to an aggregate US$1 billion of its Nasdaq-listed Class A and Class B common stock.

The company said it had already purchased about US$438.8 million of stock under the program, leaving roughly US$561.3 million available against the authorization.

In the latest daily buy-back update, News Corp reported repurchasing 54,641 shares on the prior day for US$1.65 million. That followed a much larger batch of 11.08 million shares bought back before the previous day for US$284.8 million.

The company said the highest price paid in the program so far was US$30.79 a share, while the lowest was US$22.20.

News Corp listed 360,464,857 shares on issue in the class covered by the buy-back notice. The repurchases are being handled through Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. Today the company's shares have moved 1.12% to a price of $30.72. For the full picture, make sure to review NEWS CORP's 8-K report.
