Trex Company Appoints First Chief Commercial Officer

Trex Company has named Brian J. Taylor as its first chief commercial officer, creating a new role that consolidates sales, marketing and information technology under one executive.

Taylor joins Trex from PoolCorp, where he was vice president of sales for North America. Before that, he spent 24 years at Sherwin-Williams, including as senior vice president of global marketing and sales for the company’s $6.8 billion performance coatings group and as senior vice president of sales and marketing for its $11.2 billion North American paint stores group.

Trex said the move is designed to sharpen execution across three of its five strategic priorities: strengthening ties with end users, optimizing channels for growth and improving data-driven decision making. The company said the new structure is intended to create a more integrated commercial organization and support continued market share gains.

The appointment comes as Trex is looking to deepen customer engagement and expand revenue growth through a more unified commercial approach. Taylor said Trex is positioned to use its brand, channel partners and digital capabilities to better serve customers and drive sustained growth. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 1.38%, and are now trading at a price of $47.475. Check out the company's full 8-K submission here.
