News Corporation has stepped up its share repurchase program, saying it bought back 11,134,560 shares before the previous day and another 54,641 shares on the previous day, for total consideration of US$286.4 million and US$1.68 million, respectively.
The company said it has now spent about US$441.3 million under its 2025 Repurchase Program, which authorizes up to US$1 billion of its Nasdaq-listed Class A and Class B common stock. That leaves roughly US$558.7 million still available under the program.
The repurchases are being carried out in the open market through Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. The company said the buyback is intended to enhance shareholder value.
The program covers Class A and Class B common stock, not ASX-listed CDIs. The company reported 360,464,857 shares on issue in the buyback class.
