Unum Group authorizes $1 billion buyback program

Unum Group’s board authorized a new $1 billion share repurchase program, set to begin September 1, 2026.

The company said its current buyback program will run through August 31, 2026, before ending. The new authorization replaces it and gives management flexibility to repurchase shares through open-market purchases, privately negotiated transactions, accelerated share repurchases, or 10b5-1 trading plans.

No repurchase pace or volume under the prior program was disclosed in the release. Today the company's shares have moved 0.33% to a price of $91.81. For more information, read the company's full 8-K submission here.
