AMBARELLA INC Reports Revenue Increase in Recent 10-Q

AMBARELLA INC recently released its 10-Q report. Ambarella develops low-power system-on-chip semiconductors and software for edge and physical AI applications, with products built around its CVflow architecture and related video, image, audio, and system-control functions. The company sells into automotive, IoT, enterprise, security, and other applications through ODMs, OEMs, and Tier-1 suppliers, and it operates across Asia, Europe, and North America.

In Item 2, management said revenue rose to $108.1 million in the three months ended July 31, 2026, up 13.2% from the prior-year period, and to $208.5 million in the first six months, up 14.9%. The company said the increase was mainly driven by higher unit shipments of its higher-priced AI inference processors.

Operating losses narrowed to $8.1 million in the quarter from $22.0 million a year earlier, and to $27.6 million for the six-month period from $47.8 million. Ambarella attributed the improvement to higher revenue and gross profit, along with lower operating expenses.

Research and development expense fell by $9.0 million, which management tied to the release of a deposit liability after a development project was terminated. That decline was partly offset by higher engineering costs as more chips moved through development.

Cash flow from operations was a use of $25.9 million for the first six months of fiscal 2027, compared with a source of $20.3 million in the same period last year. The company said the swing was mainly due to higher working-capital outflows, especially increased inventory purchases.

On May 27, 2026, the board authorized a $50.0 million share repurchase program running from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. Ambarella said it repurchased no shares during the quarter, leaving the full $50.0 million available at July 31, 2026.

Management also said future revenue depends heavily on design wins, customer acceptance, and expansion in AI and computer vision markets, while noting that its sales cycles are long and that production timing is outside its control. Today the company's shares have moved 0.65% to a price of $63.79. For more information, read the company's full 10-Q submission here.
