SoundHound AI Acquires LivePerson, Expands Enterprise Reach

SoundHound AI completed its acquisition of LivePerson on September 4, 2026, pairing its voice and agentic AI platform with LivePerson’s digital messaging infrastructure in a deal that immediately broadened the company’s enterprise reach.

The combined company said its customer base now includes 25 of the Fortune 100, and its intellectual property portfolio has grown to more than 750 patents. SoundHound said the integrated platform will operate across voice, web, mobile, SMS, and social channels through its Oasys system.

On the financial side, the company said the transaction left the combined business with a debt-free balance sheet after retiring LivePerson’s outstanding debt. SoundHound also said the enlarged customer base creates a path to more than $500 million in future revenue from existing customers alone.

The company also appointed John Collins as chief financial officer. Collins previously held senior roles at LivePerson, including CFO, COO, and interim CEO. SoundHound said his past work included cutting annual cash burn of more than $100 million to positive free cash flow in one year while supporting double-digit growth, executing more than $200 million in cost reductions, and helping secure $227 million of debt discount through multi-year restructurings.

SoundHound said the acquisition expands its position in the enterprise market at a time when Gartner forecasts enterprise software spending will reach $985 billion by 2030. Following these announcements, the company's shares moved 0.0%, and are now trading at a price of $6.74. For the full picture, make sure to review SOUNDHOUND AI, INC.'s 8-K report.
