SoundHound AI Acquires LivePerson, Expands Customer Base and Patent Portfolio

SoundHound AI completed its acquisition of LivePerson on Sept. 4, 2026, adding a customer base that includes 25 of the Fortune 100 and expanding its patent portfolio to more than 750 patents.

The combined company said LivePerson’s platform will be folded into SoundHound’s Oasys system, creating an omnichannel offering across voice, web, mobile, SMS and social channels. SoundHound said the deal also leaves the combined business with a debt-free balance sheet after retiring LivePerson’s outstanding debt.

The company said the enlarged customer base gives it a path to more than $500 million in future revenue from existing customers alone.

SoundHound also named John Collins as chief financial officer. Collins previously served in finance and operating roles at LivePerson, including CFO, COO and interim CEO. SoundHound said Collins helped drive more than $200 million of cost-reduction programs and led debt restructurings that captured $227 million of debt discount. The company said he also oversaw a turnaround from more than $100 million of annual cash burn to positive free cash flow in a single year while still supporting double-digit growth.

SoundHound said the integration is already underway and that combined product offerings will begin rolling out in coming quarters. Today the company's shares have moved 0.0% to a price of $6.74. If you want to know more, read the company's complete 8-K report here.
