Five Star Bancorp has named Lydia Ramirez as executive vice president and chief external affairs officer, creating a new leadership post as the bank continues to expand its California footprint.
Ramirez brings nearly 20 years of senior banking experience in strategic operations, sales management, client advocacy and team leadership. The company said the role is designed to connect the bank more directly with clients and community partners and to translate local priorities into partnerships and action.
The appointment comes after a year of geographic growth for Five Star Bank, including expansions into Lodi, Southern California and Walnut Creek. The bank now has 10 branches in California.
Ramirez has served on a range of regional boards and advisory groups, including the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Capital Black Chamber of Commerce, United Way California Capital Region, Valley Vision, Downtown Sacramento Partnership and Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. She also sits on advisory boards for the Sacramento State University College of Business and Creciente, a Latinx leadership program.
She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Spanish, and holds an MBA from California State University, Sacramento. She also completed the California Bankers Association executive banking school.
Ramirez has been recognized with honors including Sacramento Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, Women Who Mean Business and Champions for DE&I; Comstock’s Women in Leadership; The Sacramento Bee’s Top 25 Latino Change Makers; and the Association of Latino Professionals for America’s 50 Most Powerful Latinas.
